The “possibilities” are groundbreaking, if you read the title.
If you see the last part of the article, you will notice that I have mentioned the possible use of neumorphism in tactile UI. With the sense of touch added to this style, it can solve problems for the visual impaired, and add a wow-factor for those who can both see and feel the application.
It would be like using our old mobile phones with real buttons, where we could type an entire conversation by only feeling the buttons, without once looking at what we are typing, but a lot better.
